When an injury or condition is too severe, or if conservative treatment is no longer an alternative, then many foot and ankle conditions can be resolved with surgery.

These include:

  •   Correction of bunion and toe deformities

  •   Chronic heel and arch pain

  •   Nerve entrapments

  •   Tendon disorders

  •   Arthritic joints

  •   Flat feet

  •   Chronic diabetic foot conditions

  •   Residual club foot

Our podiatrists work in co-operation with Fellows of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons, and other medical and surgical specialties, to ensure your condition is cared for appropriately.

Your podiatrist can advise you on what procedures may be suitable for you, and organise a referral to an appropriate surgeon who specialises in caring for your problem.

MINOR SURGICAL PROCEDURES AVAILABLE AT OUR PRACTICE

Minor procedures are performed by the podiatrists at our clinic, under local anaesthesia where required.

These include:

  •   Permanent partial or total nail removals (for recurrent ingrown toenails)

  •   Plantar wart excisions          (see left )

  •   Debridement of diabetic foot ulcerations

Your podiatrist can discuss whether your condition is suitable for treatment by surgery.
